Frequently Asked Questions.

Everything you need to know about dropping off your animal, choosing your cuts, and picking up your order.

Getting Started

We process beef, pork, lamb, hog, and wild game — including deer, elk, antelope, moose, and other species. We also offer custom smoking for bacon, hams, turkeys, and other meats.

Yes — and the earlier the better. We recommend scheduling at least a month in advance. During busy seasons, particularly hunting season in the fall, we fill up quickly. Call us as early as possible to get on the books.

Walk-in retail customers are welcome during shop hours without an appointment.

We are closed on all public holidays.

Call us at (208) 557-1929 or send us a message through our contact page to schedule your drop-off. We'll confirm your appointment and answer any questions about how to prepare your animal.

Yes. We're connected with local ranchers who sell beef, pork, lamb, and goat direct — whole, half, or quarter. Ask us at the shop or give us a call and we'll make the introduction. Once you've arranged your purchase, bring the animal to us for processing.

Drop-Off & Processing

Domestic livestock — beef, pork, and lamb — can be dropped off live or as a carcass, depending on your arrangement. Call ahead to confirm the details for your specific situation.

Wild game must be field-dressed and cooled before drop-off. Do not bring an animal that has not been properly field-dressed. Call us if you have questions about how to prepare your animal.

Hang times before cutting are as follows:

  • Beef: 14 days (default)
  • Pork: 4–7 days
  • Lamb: 4–7 days

After aging is complete, your order is cut, packaged, and prepared for pickup. Total time from drop-off to pickup-ready depends on our current schedule — we'll give you an estimate when you drop off.

We encourage you to submit your cut sheet as soon as possible after drop-off — ideally before or on the day your animal arrives. You can fill it out online through our Cut Sheets page or bring a printed copy with your animal.

If we don't receive your cut sheet before your animal completes the default aging process, we cannot guarantee timely processing — and if the animal hangs beyond its optimal window, we cannot guarantee meat quality. Please don't wait.

That's what we're here for. Call us at (208) 557-1929 and we'll walk you through every choice on the cut sheet. You can also submit your sheet online and note any questions in the comments — we'll call to confirm all selections before processing begins.

Packaging & Labeling

We offer both vacuum sealing and paper wrapping. Vacuum sealing extends the shelf life of your products significantly and is a popular choice for freezer storage. Let us know your preference when you submit your cut sheet or drop off your animal.

Yes — for vacuum-sealed packages. If you have a logo, we can laser print it directly on the vacuum-sealed labels at no additional charge. Send your logo file to threewatersfinemeats@gmail.com and we'll take it from there.

Custom farm labeling is available on vacuum-sealed packages only. Paper-wrapped cuts cannot be custom labeled.

Yes. If you're a rancher selling direct to customers and want your farm brand on your product, we can put your logo on vacuum-sealed packages. This is a great way to present a professional product to your buyers. Reach out to discuss the details.

Pickup & Storage

We'll call you when your order is ready for pickup. Make sure we have your current phone number when you drop off your animal.

We ask that all orders be picked up within 7 days of notification. Orders held beyond 7 days are subject to a freezer storage fee. Call us if you need to make special arrangements.

Yes — just let us know in advance who will be picking up your order so we can have it ready.

Wild Game

We process deer, elk, antelope, moose, and other wild game. If you're not sure whether we process your animal, give us a call.

Yes. All wild game must be field-dressed and properly cooled before drop-off. We will not accept animals that have not been field-dressed. If you have questions about how to prepare your animal, call us before you come in.

Yes. We offer the option to add beef fat or beef suet to your ground venison at various percentages. This is a popular choice for hunters who want a richer grind. You'll find those options on our Wild Game cut sheet.

Retail & Walk-Ins

Yes. We carry retail cuts for walk-in purchase during shop hours — ground beef, ribeye, New York strip, tenderloin, and Falls Brand bacon. We also make our own sausage in-house. Call ahead to confirm current availability before you make the drive.

All of our retail beef is US sourced. It's priced below what you'd pay for comparable quality at a grocery store.

Yes — we carry raw bones, smoked bones, and pet food made from our processing operation. Availability varies by week. Stop in or call to ask what's currently available.
